The Lima Veterans Administration Outpatient Center project consisted of preconstruction services followed by full construction services for a complete interior demolition and remodel of an existing space in an active hospital. This remodel included demolition, minor structural modifications, framing & drywall, mechanical piping, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection sprinklers, telecommunications, doors, frames, finish hardware, window treatments, finishes & specialties. More specifically, the project involved several high-end finishes and specialty equipment that required detailed installation and oversight to provide a quality finished product. The project also included specialty systems to support the needs of a state-of-the-art healthcare operation: nurse call system, sound masking system and audiology testing booth. This project was completed in an existing active hospital. Our project specifically shared space on the same floor with an adjacent practice. Accel maintained close coordination with property management, building occupants, healthcare professionals, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure daily operations were not disturbed and that the strict health and safety standards of the hospital remained intact. During the last month of construction, as the COVID-19 pandemic began to take over the country, Accel worked quickly to implement new COVID-19 guidelines as they were rolled out by the CDC and still delivered the project on-time and on-budget.
