Henry Lopez, Founder and President
Henry Lopez brings more than 30 years of experience in building, construction, acquisition, and development of major real estate projects to Accel clients and projects. Throughout his career, Henry has successfully led high-profile commercial, retail, residential and hospitality projects to completion that include Army Reserve Centers for the USACE amounting to $41 million and Chicago’s highly successful multi-billion-dollar Central Station Development. He has also overseen the $50-million renovation of 250 S. Wacker Drive, a 247,000 square foot, 17-story office building, along with many other major high-profile projects in Chicago. Since founding Accel Construction, Henry has continued to expand the firm’s capabilities and clientele, completing numerous projects for private developers, local and federal government agencies, and universities.
Prior to founding Accel Construction in 2009, Henry served as Senior Vice President at Forest City Enterprises, as Vice President for The John Buck Company, as Vice President for LR Development (now part of the Related Companies) and as Senior Project Manager for Power Construction Company.
Henry’s professionalism, creative thinking, negotiation skills and extensive experience in both the building and financial aspects of the business enhance his ability to add value by creating substantial cost-saving opportunities well before a project begins. He has a proven track record of delivering exceptional, on-time and on-budget projects, achieved through effective decision making, attention to detail and leadership.
Born and raised in Chicago, Henry holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and Construction Management with a minor in business from Bradley University.
When not working, Henry enjoys spending time with his wife Jeanene, and three children: Antonio, Gianna, and Marco.
