This project involved making HVAC upgrades to multiple buildings that are connected to the chilled water loop throughout Scott Air Force Base. Accel removed 300- and 400-ton chillers and replaced them with a new 500-ton chiller inside. All three existing cooling towers were removed and replaced with new towers. The entire electrical system was replaced, including indoor wiring and conduits, the motor control center, and service entrance. New pumps were installed for each chiller and cooling tower. The existing chilled water pumps in each building were replaced and variable frequency drives (VFDs) were installed to assure sufficient water pressure to meet building loads.
