This project consisted of the demolition of a 40,000sf 1950s-era Navy Medical building and the bridge connecting it to another structure, the latter of which remained intact. Due to the age of the structure, abatement was performed to eliminate hazardous lead, PCB, asbestos and other materials identified by the Environmental Survey Report.
Accel constructed a memorial park on the demolished site honoring the former medical building and its many services provided throughout the decades. The park features a memorial wall constructed of reclaimed bricks from the demolished building and an interpretive sign constructed of reclaimed limestone. The park also features a picnic and seating area as well as specialty landscape design. In addition to the park, Accel installed four electrical vehicle charging stations and accompanying parking spaces.
