Accel Construction was tasked to build an enclosure over the existing barrier and three rectifier units at 2A Raceway. The work included both new and relocated mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, and fire protection systems. The project also included installation of disconnect systems to power the existing barrier located in the Chicago Sanitary & Ship Canal. Accel worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers during construction when unforeseen conditions were found and helped to overcome these issues.
