This project upgraded four passenger elevator cabs and associated equipment for the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UIC. The existing controllers were removed and replaced with new microprocessor controllers with new SCR drives. Accel also installed new isolation transformers, load weighing systems, and position landing systems. The existing governors, tension sheaves, and governor ropes were removed and replaced with new equipment, and the existing elevator DC geared hoist machines and breaks were retained and refurbished. Accel provided new flooring, wall panels, reveals, ceiling systems, handrails, control panels, base/trim, and light fixtures inside the cabs, and replaced the fire alarm system and equipment to the elevators.
